White trainers filthy, how to clean them?

DS2 has a pair of expensive white trainers with mesh uppers. He went to a party last night and they are literally black.

I do have a trainer wash program on the washing machine but I tried this on another pair of trainers and wasn't all that impressed. If I do try this again what temperature can I wash them at without them falling to bits?

Hi YL - Don't know if this helps?

5 pages of suggestions re washing white trainers.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Just out of interest a lot of the posts on the other thread talked about baby wipes/cif type cleaning products which was no good because my sons trainers are mesh. In the end I scrubbed them liberally with spray bleach and stuck them in the washing machine on a 30 degree sports shoe cycle. They havent exactly come up like new but pretty close to it.

    No nasty smell either.

You might try washing them again but using dishwasher soap this time...if you have a dishwasher.
I had grubby boys and a husband who was a coach. Dishwasher detergent even took grass stains out of white shorts.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Another question. What's the quickest way of drying them especially if it,s not a nice hot sunny day and you can,t leave them out in the sunshine to dry
